Sarah and William Hooper were married in a black tie ceremony at St. George’s Golf and Country Club in Toronto before 180 guests. Sarah and Will decided not to have the usual head table and instead sat at a round table with their wedding party. “It was really nice to be able to speak to everyone and not feel on display!”
The couple first met at law school. They immediately clicked and soon became best friends. It wasn’t until after they graduated that they realized being “friends” wasn’t enough. “Our first kiss was pretty fabulous,” remembers Sarah. “We had gone to a movie where we sat just a little bit too close to one another. After the movie, we stopped for a drink and a bite to eat. Finally, at my apartment, we lingered in the lobby not saying good bye for almost an hour before we finally kissed. We realized we were in love.”
It was when the pair took a trip to Europe, that Will decided it was the perfect time to propose. “After a romantic gondola ride and dinner in Venice, Will got down on his knee and asked me to be his wife,” says Sarah. “It was a beautiful moment. I’m a very lucky woman!”
They had centrepieces from Pink Twig and everything else was handmade, including the table numbers, place cards, menu cards, advice tags, picture frames and ceremony programs. Candles were used just about everywhere for a truly romantic look.
